The Gaze

It was the way you looked at me,

With such intensity,

Those pools of dark cessation,

Eaten Alive,

The crow calls.

Waves of enigmatic energy,

Screeching for an understanding,

Reaching into the depths of my being,

Needing to be heard,

The last petal drops.

Desperation rising,

But what could it be?

My frame slouching inward,

Curling,

Please set me free.

The bell tolls.

Obsidian,

The stare holds,

Oblivion must know a place,

for escape,

The breath stops.

Density,

Propensity,

Immensity,

A desire to penetrate,

My soul shakes,

Alcon Blue,

The butterfly dies.
